Sk8school and Eastbourne Sk8 M8s trip - Brighton Bikini Skate

The Brighton Bikini Skate

Last time this Sk8 M8 went to Brighton it was a party!

This will be a big party! Lots of skaters coming from all over - for a beach BBQ, Roller Disco and Streetskate. All FREE and "unofficial"! Just turn up!

Make sure all your friends are invited! Suitable for All!. Share

The Schedule

Saturday 31st July 2010 from 2pm onwards. (At Brighton)

There will be a convoy leaving Eastbourne for about midday - heading for HOVE.

When/Where to meet up in Brighton

The idea for the day is we all meet up at the skate area next to the West Pier (that's the knackered one, not the functioning one), on beach level behind the sailboats, from 1-2pm. Then at 2pm we will leave for a very slow, very unorganised, unofficial skate along the seafront to the Marina and back to Hove along the cycle path (no official street skate I'm afraid but hopefully next year this will materialise). But we will have music and merryment. Then we will regroup again infront of Hove lawns (smooth skating area infront of beach huts) and we will park the music backpacks and continue with roller disco/beach boogie along with beach picnics and BBQs.

Food and Drink

We will make a stop at the Marina for people to buy BBQ and picnic supplies and a car will take it all back to Hove for you so you dont have to carry your orange juice and chicken drumsticks while you skate.

That is as far as the planing goes. If people want to do more skating then the cycle paths go further than we will skate and we may break off in smaller skate groups later in the day and there is also a skate park very near by which we could make a diversion to as well if people fancy a play on some pipes and boxes.

Basic directions:

When you come out of Brighton train station, skate straight ahead down Queens Street and towards the sea. When you hit the sea turn right and skate towards the West Pier, then down the ramp to beach level. You can't miss it. Easy.

Where to meet up in Eastbourne

Sounds like most of the Eastbourne Sk8 M8s want to drive so we'll do the usual meetup and car optimising for convoy to Brighton. (Gathering Point will be at Mr and Mrs T's). Walkie Talkies can be arranged! We'll be leaving at about 12 midday to ensure maximum skating enjoyment in Brighton - be prepared for a LATE return! If you are bringing younger skaters bear in mind your return travel arrangements!

Travel Arrangements

Parking will most likely be a few blocks back into the Hove lanes as its free and will be at the end where we will finish, which makes leaving easier. Other options are the Marina - but thats theoretically limited to 4 hours at a stretch.

Further Information

As usual up to the minute details will be on Twitter, TXT service, Facebook Page, WhealsON and Website. Stay in touch - we'd hate to miss someone! :)
