Mastering Backwards December 7^th

This is the last of the Mastering courses this year and will take you step by step from the elementary - first shuddering backwards movement, to graceful and controlled full backwards crossover and slalom turn. We recommend that you can manage fairly competent parallel turns forwards before attempting this half day intensive course. We have 9 people enrolled, so there is still space if you want to book it.

Next year we'll be starting off in January again with mastering stopping and booking for all the 2009 Mastering half day Courses is open now.

Each month we'll add another mastering course (turns and edges, backwards and finally flow grace and tricks). Once we hit April we'll get outside and we'll run the streetwise, which covers hills steps and kerb's - amongst all the other things you'll learn on the day!

Learning to Skate Dance - now a regular session!

After the popularity of our first Learn to Skate Dance session(s) and the enthusiasm they generated, we are now running a new weekly session - Skate Dance! As you can see from the WhealsON reviews and these pictures it really is great fun. Somewhere between a work out and a lesson, that improves your skating control, balance, fitness and added to all that keeps everyone smiling! You cant go wrong!

If you decide to turn up on our Wednesday night 9pm Shinewater Dancercise session, and you've not done it before - it's FREE. If you're a regular and you introduce someone new - you get a free week too!

In this way we hope to really grow this session and develop quite a routine, that you can use at the drop of a hat to impress your friends or develop into something new for yourselves.

What ever your motives you should at least give learning to skate dance a go - it won't cost you a penny and you just might get the bug!

On December 6th several of the skate dancers will be taking a trip to Southwick Roller Disco, who are interested in introducing skate dance to their sessions. Anyone interested in going should let us know ASAP as the first 10 to register will be allowed FREE entry!

We'll be Dancing there from about 5:30pm on Saturday night. Let us know if you'd like to attend/share transport etc. If you don't want to dance - but just want a Free roller disco - let us know, we might have room for you!

Ice skating in December

The Sk8 M8s will be heading over to the Ice rink at Brighton's Holiday on Ice this December, but the date is not too certain. Make sure you have enrolled on the Sk8 M8s TXT service (or check the website / Facebook club) regularly if you are interested in this "at cost" trip.

Remember to take your pads as Ice is hard!

Santa Skate London Trip

Saturday 13^th December sees the Santa Skate (weather pending). We'll be going up in groups to save on train fare. Your "entrance fee" of £10 to this event gets you a Santa Suit and 9-10 miles of festive fun skating round London with 500+ other Santa's! The train fare should be about £5, so your total outlay will be about £15. We'll be picking up the suits at the Vic around 2pm and kickoff for the whole skate is 5ish. (Finishing at 7pm) For those with the energy there's a party at the Vic afterward - or you can just head off home!

If you want to have one of the best skating experiences of the year - you need to act quickly! Send a TXT to 07940773295 confirming your willingness to pay £15 or bring the money to to THIS Wednesdays Skate Dance. After that we can't guarantee to sort out your travel and santa suit in time for the event. Those that express an interest will get TXT's and emails closer to the time sorting out travel and meeting up arrangements.

December Christmas Party - tickets nearly gone!

Well we've got about 6 tickets left for the Christmas party - so be fast if you've been sitting on the fence! For those that are wondering what is in store...

• Free lessons on ANYTHING we teach while the DJ sets up.
• A skate dance intro
• It's a knockout style games
• A bit of Kids club (for adults too!)
• Lots of dancing
• A few "presentations"
• Lots of fun!

Entry is TICKET ONLY and doors open at 10am Sunday 21st December. 3 Hours of skating fun for £2 with a profressional DJ and all the Christmas Trimmings.

Revolution climbing knocked back a month

Due to too much happening in a short space of time, we've had to knock the Climbing back to January. We'll use the SK8 M8 txt service, Facebook Club and website to keep you all informed.

Live better for Less

Sk8school had a stand at the "Live better for less" exhibition in November. Quite an interesing event that promoted various ways of ... well... Living better for Less! As Sk8school has always provided heaps of Free skating and "at cost" events, we were natural choices for the organisers.

If you've been noticing a few new faces - that's where some of them came from!

Skate Parties

Several bookings again this month, and after discussions with the Sovereign Centre it is now possible to book halls that offer catering as well! So if you need a Roller Birthday Party - to make that Birthday something to remember - give us a call!

January Skating...

Don't worry if you missed the Christmas Party and don't manage the open skates in December - after the break we'll be back - January the 11^th 10am for the Quiet skate and lessons. 11Am for the FREE open skate - come and skate off the Turkey!

Please NOTE : Christmas is a time for giving presents and lots and lots of people get skates! Often these are from LOCO and RE-AL which means FREE lessons to hordes of people! If you think you'd like lessons in January BOOK NOW or you simply won't get in!

So... if you've done the Sunday morning group, enroll into any (or all) of the Mastering Courses. But whatever you think you might do - BOOK IT BEFORE JANUARY - once the Christmas present hordes descend - everything will be booked up to April!
