Sk8 M8's - Skate Events for all Sussex, London and Eastbourne Skaters
Sk8 M8s - Sk8 n Chips Tours (TM)(C) - Summer Only!

The Sk8 n Chips Skate runs every alternate Thursday from April to October, Starting (usualy - for Eastbourne routes) at the The Cage at 7:45m. (So arrive from 7:30 to get geared up!). A leisurely roll down to the Holy Well Cafe for a warm up and back to a favoured chippy for refueling before eating on the beach :) Nothing intense, Free (bar food cost) and Fun! The next Thursday night Sk8 n chips skate meeting at 7:45pm at the The Cage is displayed on the Event countdown (Top of the Eastbourne Skate Events Page). If you want to see pictures and stories relating to these events check out the WhealsOn Blog! If you need reminders sent to your phone, this event is covered by the Sk8 M8's TXT event notification reminder service, just text your name and JOIN to 07940773295 and a couple of days before any Sk8 M8's event you'll get a txt reminder (typically 1 a week). NOTE: For Eastbourne routes we meet at the The Cage - but other routes mean start points vary. For example - skating in Bexhill, Brighton or Hastings - makes no sense to begin at the The Cage! Check the route and start point before setting out!
How the Sk8 M8s Breakfast Skate works...
Gather up at the start point for about 7:30pm, ready for prompt departure at 7:45pm. Check the route before setting out as this does vary!
Usually the skate is very relaxed and gently paced, with attendees ranging for 8 to 80 in age. (With even younger ones in push chairs!)
Regular reviews of the skates can be found on the WhealsON blog and the Sk8school Facebook Page (become a fan for full access) - the Facebook page is growing quite a selection of photos and videos from this and a host of other popular regular events and tours.
Precise, Padded and Polite... Sk8 M8's
How good at skating do I have to be?
Not very! This is a very relaxed group skate with little people in push chairs, pensioners and teenagers, whole families etc. It doesnt race about! If you are worried about the hills - there are plenty of competent Sk8 M8s to lend a hand.
With the Sk8 M8s its all about being Precise, Padded and Polite. There's no tear-aways worrying other prom users! If you are looking for a speed skate - this is not the event for you!
We receommend you can at least heel brake half confidently and can manage better than Stride 1 - If you are not sure what these terms are - you need a Sk8school Beginners Lesson!
